Statement of Paris Sud Aménagement, urban planner of the City of Massy and of MCBAD I Colomer Dumont agency, one of the project's architects :

"Massy Vilmorin - between the railway stations, cultural space of Vilgénis and the Bièvre river that flows not so far away, the neighbourhood is made of ochre and green, warms colours and has something outdated and welcoming. However, it is not less architectural through its latest achievements. It is specifically the most recent project that we are visiting today with one of the architects of the project Garden Attitude designed by COLOMER DUMONT MCBAD and Avenier Cornejo architects for AXE IMMOBILIER and PARISUDAM, a real estate co-development program.

These are different strata of the city, addressing step by step the constraints , giving answers and making possible to link up the pieces till uniting these different periods, which form an all. And it works.

Along the railway river, a plan fault comes forward crossing several urban shapes; from apartment complex to individual houses. This real estate program is making the connection between residential area and surrounding newer buildings.

The projects, which mostly have slanted roof like big houses are organised around this fault, and, by doing so are reflecting ones we can find further in the neighbourhood.

The peculiarity of architectural treatment, - in contrast to the alignment that we find along the avenue Raymond Aron - is to come across discrepancies, dead ends, like the driveways of a village leading us to the next shape.

The landmark building is the nearest one of the railways and stands out from the avenue which is travelled by car or bike. It announces the whole program, and we know that will be surprising. This shade of brick makes the material vibrate at the slightest ray of sunshine, the moucharaby gives a calm and desired impression of freshness

These 207 homes include 5-rooms single family houses of one hundred square meters, crossing living rooms, 4-rooms duplex apartments with secured patio.

It is also a shared program with some services on the street-garden, like children's wooden toys highly integrated, a pergola for all that we can already imagine hosting an upcoming Neighbours Day celebration, furniture placed in shared landscaped areas, as large wooden tables for picnics where we could relax in the spring; or would it be the big loungers for watching trains passing by and daydreaming?

The zinc roofs complete this village with industrial look, which did not neglect beautiful details of gutters well integrated which collect rainy water.

The end of the project opens on individual and nearby houses, which the space and heights of ceiling lead beyond the railway, beyond the Bièvre which flows on the other side, or the inhabited wood a couple of kilometres way: this "space there" is the well-being at home and the poetry which was lacking in city that seize us there.
